Are you a model ?
Are you a social media influencer ?
What are you influencing?
Body positivity? Fitness and healthy lifestyles ? Are you inspiring positive change and realistic goals? Are you supporting your fellow peers? Local business or involved in any charity work?
“Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others. Unsuccessful people are always asking, 'What's in it for me?'
-Brian Tracy

Models are often reduced to their appearance: how tall they are, how toned they are, how thin they are. It's often forgotten that they do more than just walk the runway, there are also a few negative stigmas associated with models being known as selfish, narcissistic, and uneducated. It’s believed that many models use good looks to get ahead and aren’t familiar with today’s societal issues.
But what if models became real advocates for positive change and leadership development.

Picture

Models being “role models”

For decades, leggy supermodels were the ultimate ideal of feminine beauty
But recently a shift toward "real" beauty is challenging American conventions. The idea is that women don't need to be classified as models to be beautiful.

#goddesstribe is a new initiative to do just that
Picture
I want to create an intimate space where women could gather to network and share resources—inspiring each other to revive old goals, make new ones and move towards them while giving back

I am looking for models that have a heart of gold to match that gorgeousexterior.
“#modelsmakingadifference”

Picture
Instead of using social media to influence unattainable standards of beauty, lusting over cars and material objects that won’t give anyone any true happiness. Why post meaningless content when you can promote heart felt soul-aligned messages that seek to Empower people to live their best lives.

If you want to promote real positive change
Join the goddess tribe initiative, we are looking for several brands, photographers, videographers, designers, artist and more to help
spread the world of positive influence.
the Modelwearhouse has dedicated this next year to giving back as much as possible. All events will be charity and community driven!

There are many benefits of blogging together, but the best part has to be the fact that we get to spend time together.Another bonus is being able to bounce ideas off of one another. and always having someone I know I can share my views without critical judgment. But for the most part, it’s just being able to experience everything that comes with blogging with your favorite human. (event invitations, partnerships, press trips. Swag etc.)
Picture
Picture
When we aren’t trying to “build” Truluv Media we are working our normal jobs.
Sometimes I don’t give my boyfriend enough credit. He works as a Cell tower hand technician. ( Which means he climbs and performs maintenance on those super tall poles you always see on the side of the road to ensure your phones and radios are works properly.)

Picture
Aside from having one of the deadliest jobs in the world he also works about 70+ hours a week where we often spend weeks apart due to travel. (It sucks)
I work as a full time bartender,

Picture
part-time model scout rep, and in between coordinating fashion shows, and maintaining a somewhat relevant my modeling career I also write for street  fashion magazine!

When we are working we give it 110% (i.e. 12+ hour days…blogging, editing music, venue searches, investors, sponsors, branding proposals, revenue generation, networking, keywords coding, etc), all these practices can all be just as time consuming as creating content..for most,
Not for us! Luckily we never find ourselves bored! Truluv Media began in july 2016 as a media LLC specializing in photography, recording and event planning. Our brand is to live with purpose. If it isn't true, then it isn't real we maintain  a strong emphasis on giving back to the community and supporting our local and emerging creatives!!

In six short months we have hosted, planned and coordinated 3 fashion shows as well as 3 professional photoshoot outs
We have been bless to cover events as press  with our first being full backstage coverage of NYFW, Las vegas SEMA SHOW, MISS INTERNATIONAL FASHION WEEK, Wearable Art 12 dunedin, St pete art and fashion week, cocktails and couture,  and even smaller perks like being apart of  local community activities and writing reviews for places such as orlando escape room, Tampa  murder house, hotel suites, several local dining eateris  and our favorite south beach hot spots

take a quick look below of what we have been up to. if you want more just take a look around the blog!  all support is appreciated!

Biker fashion

Motorcycle clubs and biker culture are regaining appeal as consumers seek to add more thrill to ordinary lifestyles.
Edgy, tough motorcycle trends  and accessories appeal to people's inner rebel.

It's true, many of the image-conscious urbanites get into the scene as a fashion statement, trying to replicate scenes from Easy Rider  or something they saw on Instagram - but many others learn the nuances of motorcycling as they get into the sport and end up becoming serious riders, tinkerers, and builders.
In a generation of millenials  that, having grown up surrounded by tech gadgets and an app for everything,  that actually wants to learn to do something with their hands.

Picture
Motorcyclists have given us much more than the iconic black leather jacket.
From gentleman’s leisure activity  to rebel trademark, a history of the motorcycle trends has had  profoundly huge effects on our  culture and fashion. From Tweed suites to biker jackets, from safety goggles to aviators some things just remain timeless

Picture
Picture

We’ve all seen the stereotypical biker, 6 ft tall, tats on both arms, biceps the size of Europe, leather waistcoat, boots, complete with leather biker wallets with chains

Most motorcycle riders wear leather – lots of leather. Boots, chaps, vests, gloves, chain wallets, and leather jackets. The reason behind all this leather is not for looks, and it's not to appear threatening. It's all about protection
there is a saying in motorcycle culture that there are two types of riders: Those who have crashed, and those who haven't crashed yet. The Moto style trend  essentially lies in the between the  threshold of safety and functionality.  Even after decades, biker fashion is still considered quintessentially cool. A timeless look that came to represent individualism –and this irresistible spirit lives on in the work of some of today’s top designers Influenced by the freedom and resilience of the riders and the sleek design of motorcycles themselves

Picture

The same influence is echoed in leather boots and more masculine outerwear, with a slightly softer edge for women.
For real bikers, it's all about cuts that are classic, rugged, and comfortable for long rides. Dickies and Levis are great because stand up against a lot of damage and is resistant to dirt, oil, and tearing
these looks and style are always put second to safety, but the fact it looks bad ass goes without saying.

Leather skull caps and  bandanas
Both fashionable and functional. The cloth head-ware protects the scalp from the sun, provides a cushion under a motorcycle helmet and keeps hair in place when riding a motorcycle. While providing a safety feature for the wearer, bandanas also allow motorcyclists to display their favorite colors, logos and brand names.  the marketplace for motorcycle helmets specifically built for women riders has increased exponentially over the past few years. Whether as a passenger or leading the charge at the head of the pack, female motorcyclists are quickly seeing the options for lady-specific motorcycle helmets
Picture

Picture
yborcityhighrollers
  • That explains the leather jackets and gloves. But why the chain wallets? Over time, the wallet can drop out unnoticed and not only is money lost, but ID, proof of insurance, credit cards lots of valuable things that take time and trouble to replace. With the chain wallet, this cannot happen
The leather gloves
O
ften fingerless for summer wear -- make holding handlebars for hours more comfortable. There isn't a cruise control on a motorcycle, . The throttle is in your hand and you have it turned to the speed you want to go for the entire ride. That wears on the palm and tires the hand. The gloves provide comfort.

Picture
yborcityhighrollers
Goggles or eye protection is often the law,  Think what happens if a bug hits you in the eye at 65 mph . Today you see most riders sporting stylish aviators or helmets with eye protection.
Picture

Picture
BOOTS
Another part of motorcycle gear that has made it's way into mainstream culture is motorcycle boots. They also provide you with traction and protect the small bones in your feet in the case of a crash .The main rules when it comes to motorcycle footwear is to make sure they are sturdy, and they have over the ankle protection. Boots also provide protection from hot exhaust pipes and support the ankles better for mounting and dismounting your ride. Those cowboy boots and work boots are a great alternative too!
Picture

Picture
The chains that bikers use to link their wallets to their belt loops are a key crossover element. Similar chains -- but doubled in weight and tripled in number -- now adorn the jeans of pop-music and extreme-sports fans. And smaller versions of these chains decorate trendy boots, belts, handbags and miniskirts.
Biker fashion has permeated American design, slowly but steadily, during the past 80 years. Today, biker influence can be seen in surf and skateboard shops, in boutiques and in couture showrooms.

On the runway you constantly see these looks replicated
Fashion versions of the bike  jacket tend to be lighter and smaller than the real thing, and often featuring embroidery, glitz, even ruffles.Everything about biker gear -- zippers, rivets, buckles, laces -- is bigger and bolder than it really needs to be
Picture
Picture
From rivets, grommets and studs, all typical of biker gear, even  black lipstick and bandanas  are everyday looks for some .
Biker fashion is really coming into its own especially  for bikers that want functional protective gear; but gear that looks just as good on the bike as it does off it
There is a reason for everything the everyday  biker wears. Sure, it looks cool  and there is some really beautiful riding gear available but safety is always number one.

Strength of character, strength of mind, and strength of purpose. As the woman of today embraces her inner Boss, why not reference both yourself and your purpose as the Pillar of the future?

Can you tell me about yourself? My name is Shamara Sawyer, I am originally from a small town in NC Pamlico County. I was raised in a single parent home with my mom and brother. I have always loved shopping and fashion. I moved to Orlando in 2012, where I completed my Undergrad in Business Mgmt from University of Phoenix and my MBA from Western Governors University. I wear many hats from self-employed to employed as a work at home Customer Care Specialist with Nordstrom. I have a non-profit organization S.H.A.P.I.N.G Women Inc we mentor girls ages 12-21, teaching life skills, women empowerment, entrepreneurship, etiquette, etc. I am also a Tax Preparer and President of Tax Bar. My latest business venture is Shamara Elle Inc. a Personal Styling and Apparel line QueenBoss. Aside from working I love to cook I wanted to be Chef when I was younger and once all my businesses are self-sufficient I plan to pursue that too. I enjoy poetry, reading, travelling, and girl talk.

Picture
Why did you become a fashion designers? Actually, fashion is one of my God-given talents! I have always loved everything fashion. My friends and family always consult with me for advice and fashion ideas. I always get compliments on my style and outfits.

Picture
Can you explain queen boss? The mission of Queen Boss is to represent the evolution of womanhood as we transition into an age where femininity equates to strength. Strength of character, strength of mind, and strength of purpose. As the woman of today embraces her inner Boss, why not reference both yourself and your purpose as the Pillar of the future? We as women are leaders as well as nurturers, we stand in the face of adversity and with a commanding voice and bold heart we proudly proclaim that we are the keepers of our own destiny. Queen Boss is the very embodiment of this truth. Wear us with pride, for that is the foundation from which true womanhood is built.

Do you follow any designers? I follow JenniferLe, Sam Edelman, Steve Madden, Alexander McQueen, VeraWang, Rasheeda, Jay-Z and Kanye West,

What are your plans for the near future? My plans for the near future are to own at least two clothing boutiques, expand my brand to children and men apparel, and have future stylist work with me to learn the fashion industry.

What is your favorite part about being a fashion designer? My favorite part of being a fashion designer is styling women and men in items they never imagined wearing. The joy of seeing women look and feel beautiful.

What were your inspirations? My inspirations are my mom and all the hardworking QueenBoss ladies aspiring to meet deadlines and build empires while handling the responsibilities of motherhood, wife, daughter, student, etc.

Have you faced any challenges? My biggest challenge is finding a team as dedicated to my vision as I am, finding a reputable print company who can meet my demands and deliver when promised, and breaking into this ever so changing Fashion industry.

SEMA LAS VEGAS. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

11/2/2016

Picture
Picture

The SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It draws the industry's brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Picture
What It’s Like to Attend the Insane, Awesome, and Closed-to-the-Public SEMA Show.

The annual SEMA show in Las Vegas is technically an automotive trade event but has evolved into a no-holds-barred display of tuning and customization genius. There are always hundreds of lifted trucks, slammed imports, and engine-swapped muscle cars. Yet there's far more to the show than that—the parties, the celebrities, the high-octane demos, the excess of it all. (And the Rascal scooters. Seriously, we saw a guy from Road & Track on one.) Unfortunately, SEMA isn't open to the public, but that doesn't mean you can't experience what it's like to attend the craziest show on the automotive calendar. Enjoy!

Picture
Picture

As with anything, don’t expect it to go smoothly. Lots of people, lots of expectations – be flexible with your time and be patient. It’s going to take extra time to meet the people you want to, see the cars you want to see and the products you want to buy. Everyone is there for the same reason so keep that in mind. The show runs Tuesday-Friday, with industry parties practically every night
Picture
Picture
our particulars will vary depending upon why you’re attending the show, but essentials to include are:
  • Flash or Tripod along with your camera– the lighting is decent in the convention center, but to prevent blurriness you’re going to need to be incredibly steady or you’ll need a stop of light to get your image sharp. Unless your lens is fast.
  • Extra batteries…for everything – there’s a lot to see and you want to be able to keep moving, bring extra batteries for anything electronic so you don’t find yourself tied to a wall with an outlet. The media center is a nice place to setup, but if you’re pressed for time it can be out of the way.
Picture
  • Snacks – Seriously, food is at a premium (both cost wise and availability wise) and you don’t want to waste time standing in line. Either go to lunch early or late, or bring something to snack on during the day while you're busy networking and making your way through the different halls.
  • Map – Again, if you’re not familiar with the venue, this is essential. Highlight want you want to see first and then see what works out chronologically and logistically. Large manufacturers have releases that are scheduled throughout the day; I would suggest getting the stuff you want to see most taken care of very early or very late to avoid the crowds.
Picture
  • Laptop – Essential if you need to edit images or blog on the fly. Again, this is completely dependent upon why you may be attending.
  • Pack light – As light as you can. There are so many giveaways (they’ll even have bags for you) that you’ll most likely be leaving with more than you came with.
  • Business/Contact cards – You’re going to run into so many people and forget so many names, this is my go-to. It’s handy, it gets people to remember you and you can always ask for theirs if you forgot their name. Not that I’ve ever done that…

Home to Become a Model:
  • For those interested in becoming a trade show model, Motivated Models requires professional photos. they  prefer specific looks: a tight-fitting business suit, casual wear (can be jeans and a tank top), swim suit (nothing too sexy or revealing), a clean commercial looking head shot, another head shot smiling, and at least one candid photo. The industry is competitive, talent should put their best face forward and arm themselves with some great photos.
Picture
  • A candid video done on a video camera and/or cellphone is better than none. It can be used to tell clients a little about the trade show model and shows the models mannerisms, professionalism, tone and pitch of voice, and how the client can expect them to look upon arrival. We suggest creating a video in a business skirt suit and keeping it short - 60 seconds would suffice.
Picture
Lastly, models should keep track of all the people they worked for in a marketing capacity: trade shows, promotions, volunteer work, professional endeavors. They want to have a master list somewhere which contains the date, the client, the show/event, what they were responsible for doing, and a job title they would give themselves for that show/event. This should be submitted to their agent and is a powerful tool to market them to the clients.  Think of it as your live event resume

How Helping Others Can Help You Find Meaning

“If you light a lamp for someone else it will also brighten your path.” ~Buddha
Why are you here on this earth what is your purpose? What are you supposed to be doing with your life? These deep questions burn in all of us. Our souls’ desire is to lead fulfilling lives that have meaning.
My life’s journey has always been linked to helping other people;I have discovered that I have this huge heart that wants the best for myself and for others. I now live to serve, and this brings me great fulfillment.
Ive also learned first hand, every piece of energy exerted. ALWAYS comes back to you.

Picture

We come into this world with infinite potential and then become conditioned to live to society’s expectations. This is the way it is, and yet we have the potential to change it.
We can have such doubt in ourselves. Am I good enough for this relationship? Will my writing stimulate people? Will I fit in with this new group? Society may limit our potential, but these are self-imposed doubts.
Serve people by reminding them of their potential. Remind them that they can choose self-doubt or self-belief. When we believe in ourselves, we show up differently in the world.

A trip to Fallsburg NewYork this past September was when I first heard this word and yes, when I first heard the word “sarcoidosis” I had to ask for it to be repeated a number of times. I just couldn’t understand what was being said or what it meant. It seems I am not alone.  but when it finally sank in..IT SANK to my core
First, it probably helps to share what the word sarcoidosis means. Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that can and does affect almost any organ in the human body. This means hearts, lungs, eyes, etc. Because of this situation, most patients have a compromised immune system, meaning they are more susceptible to other illnesses. Sarcoidosis can affect anyone, but in the United States it is more prone to show up in people ages 20 to 40 years old. The disease also seems to be more prevalent in people of African American or European heritage, especially those of Scandinavian heritage. It also seems to be more prevalent in women than men. But it is important to share that the disease is often misdiagnosed for years.

Picture

So you might ask what knowing about this disease has to do with charity and philanthropy. The simple answer is, a lot! Currently there is no known cause or cure and only some vague treatments. But there is hope! There is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure and effective treatment.  Today the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) is the leader in providing the resources for research to be conducted.  TRU LUV MEDIA AND FSR HAVE TEAMED UP TO ANNOUNCE OUR LATEST FASHION SHOW.

9/11  after 15 years.  survior interview from denise boland

9/12/2016

Picture

Today we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent men, women, and children who were killed in the attacks at the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pa. Hundreds of family members of 9/11 victims and influential political and military figures gathered on the 9/11 Memorial for the 15th anniversary ceremoney

The new post-9/11 world brought ubiquitous long airport security lines, pat-downs to enter any large public place and a sense of anxiety among a public constantly worried about the next potential attack. Americans were instructed to "say something" if they saw anything abnormal anywhere. The color-coded terror alert system was constantly in flux and became a feature of daily life.
Picture
15 years later, the nation is at a far different place. Osama bin Laden is dead and al-Qaeda is a shell of its former self. There are on-going privacy debates in the Congress and across the nation over how far the government should be allowed to curtail civil liberties in the name of national security. The unpopular war in Afghanistan drags on with no end in sight before a public that polls show to be increasingly war-weary.
For millions of Americans, that fateful Autumn day changed everything.
Picture
at ground zero It was impossible not to feel the raw emotion… It's hard not to be moved by being here . The transformation of the site shows the resilience and ability of Americans to bounce back
Join TRULUV media as I interview Denise Boland from staten Island TV,  we met her as our AIRB&B host and discovered some very incredible things about this woman,
The video below is a link to the interview her and her husband had when escaping the 2nd tower from the 44th floor 88 flights of stairs!! Truly an amazing video!
